Product Details
Soft, pliable high-protein tortillas built without grain flour — five wraps in a 7.41 oz pack.
The structure is what makes these different. Instead of wheat flour, the base is rice and pea protein with chickpea flour and bamboo fibre. They roll and fold without cracking, which is the usual failure of low-carb wraps.
Note the count: five per pack, not the eight or ten you get in a bag of standard flour tortillas. Compare price per wrap rather than price per pack.
Certified Gluten-Free (GFCO), Kosher, Vegan, Keto Certified and non-GMO.

Questions About This Product
The things people actually want to know before they cook with it.
Are these flour tortillas or corn tortillas?
Neither, in the traditional sense. BFree builds these on water, rice protein, pea protein, and chickpea flour rather than wheat flour or masa, which is how they reach 11 g of protein and 8 g of total carbohydrate per tortilla. They are meant to be used the way a soft flour tortilla is used, but the dough is a legume and rice protein base and it looks and eats differently from a masa tortilla.
Why does the front of the pack say 3 g net carbs when the panel says 8 g total carbs?
Net carbs is a marketing calculation rather than an FDA-defined term. BFree reaches 3 g by subtracting the 5 g of dietary fiber from the 8 g of total carbohydrate. Fiber is carbohydrate that is largely not digested, which is the reasoning behind the subtraction, but the Nutrition Facts panel always shows the total. Anyone counting carbohydrate for medical reasons should work from the total figure and follow whatever guidance their clinician has given them.
Do they crack or tear when you roll them?
Cold and straight out of the package, high-protein gluten-free tortillas are stiffer than wheat ones and are at their most likely to split at the fold. BFree's own instruction is to warm them briefly, roughly 10 to 15 seconds in a microwave or about 20 seconds in a dry skillet, which makes them noticeably more pliable. Warming before rolling, and not overfilling, is the single biggest difference between a wrap that holds together and one that cracks.
Are these the same as the Carb Savvy tortillas at Trader Joe's?
No, despite the shared phrase on the front of the pack. Trader Joe's Carb Savvy tortillas are a whole wheat product with a different nutrition profile and they are not gluten free. These are BFree's own gluten-free, wheat-free, high-protein tortillas built on chickpea flour with pea and rice protein. For a celiac household the two are not substitutes for each other.
How do they compare with Mission Carb Balance?
Mission Carb Balance tortillas are wheat-based, so they are not an option for anyone avoiding gluten, and they are sold in larger counts per bag. The BFree version is certified gluten free and considerably higher in protein at 11 g per tortilla, with 100 calories and 8 g of total carbohydrate. People who have used both tend to describe the wheat product as softer straight from the bag and the BFree one as sturdier and more dependent on being warmed first.
How big is each tortilla?
The pack holds 5 tortillas at 7.41 oz total, which works out to roughly 42 g each. That puts them in soft-taco to small-burrito territory rather than the large 10 to 12 inch burrito size some brands sell, and it is a typical weight for a high-protein wrap. Plan on a generous filling rather than an overstuffed one.
Can I use them for quesadillas, tacos, or crisp them in the oven?
Yes. They do well in a hot dry skillet, which is also the best way to loosen them up, and they crisp in an oven or air fryer for wraps, chips, or a baked tortilla bowl. The higher protein and fiber content means they brown faster than a wheat tortilla, so check them earlier than you would otherwise. They are not built for deep-frying into puffed shells the way a masa tortilla is.
Who makes BFree and where does the brand come from?
BFree Foods is an Irish free-from bakery brand, with its US operation based in Norristown, Pennsylvania. The company built its range around gluten-free breads, wraps, pitas, rolls, and bagels and produces in a dedicated free-from facility rather than on shared bakery lines. These high protein tortillas are one of several wrap formats in that range.
Are they certified for a celiac-safe diet?
The pack carries a certified gluten-free mark and BFree produces in a dedicated free-from facility. Certification programs of this kind test to a threshold of 10 parts per million of gluten, which is stricter than the FDA's 20 ppm limit for using a gluten-free label at all. As always, the printed panel on the pack in your hands is the authority for the batch you actually have.
Are they keto?
BFree labels these keto certified and leads with the 3 g net carb figure on the front of the pack, which is the basis for that positioning. Whether they fit your own plan depends on how you count carbohydrate and how tight your daily target is, since the total carbohydrate is 8 g per tortilla. That is a call to make against the full panel rather than the front-of-pack number.
Why do they feel different from a wheat tortilla?
Wheat tortillas get their stretch from gluten, and most gluten-free baked goods replace it with xanthan gum. BFree instead uses a psyllium husk and flaxseed binding system combined with bamboo fiber and legume proteins. The result is firmer and a little chewier when cold, which is exactly why warming matters so much, but it also means the tortilla holds a wet filling without going to pieces the way some gluten-free wraps do.
