Organic shopping usually breaks down at the same place. Produce is easy to find organic; the pantry behind it is whatever happened to be on the shelf. This aisle is the pantry half.
Grains and flours are the bulk of it -- Bob's Red Mill buckwheat groats, creamy buckwheat and creamy wheat cereals, pearled farro, spelt flour and flaxseed both whole and golden, plus King Arthur unbleached all purpose, One Degree sprouted whole wheat in the 80-ounce bag and Pocono cream of buckwheat. Spreads and sweeteners: Once Again creamy peanut butter, SunButter sunflower butter, Rigoni di Asiago Nocciolata hazelnut spreads, Coombs maple sugar and dark maple syrup, Shady Maple maple butter and Big Tree Farms coconut sugar. Then the odds and ends a real pantry needs -- Cento tomato paste tubes, Farmer's Market canned pumpkin, Lakewood lemon juice, Bragg apple cider vinegar, Marconi olive oil packets, Newman's Own black tea and Good Earth herbal.
Organic is a claim the manufacturer makes on the package, not one we make. A USDA Organic seal and a 'made with organic ingredients' line do not mean the same thing, certifications lapse, and recipes change without notice. Read the current packaging.
