Bon Ami Powder Cleanser, Kitchen & Bath, 14 oz

Bon Ami's classic scouring powder comes from Faultless Brands in a 14 oz can. The abrasives are feldspar and limestone (calcium carbonate), two soft minerals the company uses so the powder lifts residue without scratching. The full ingredient list is short: limestone, feldspar powder, sodium carbonate (soda ash), sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and a C10-C16 alkylbenzene sulfonic acid surfactant. Bon Ami states the formula contains no chlorine, phosphorus, perfume or dye, and describes it as biodegradable and hypoallergenic.

The brand lists it for sinks, tubs, showers, tile, countertops, cooktops, microwaves and grills, on surfaces including stainless steel, porcelain, enamel, fiberglass and acrylic, plus pots and pans that are not non-stick. Bon Ami says not to use it on non-stick cookware, on windows or mirrors, or inside toilet tanks. The can is paperboard, which the company says is 65% post-consumer recycled material.
