Kikkoman Soy Sauce Dispenser Bottle, 5 fl oz, 2 Pack
$17.60
Product Details
What you are buying here is the bottle as much as the sauce. The red-capped glass dispenser was designed in 1961 by Kenji Ekuan and the GK Design Group, took three years and close to a hundred prototypes to settle on, and has not changed since. The Museum of Modern Art in New York holds it in its permanent design collection.
The engineering is in the cap. Two openings sit under it, one for the sauce and one to let air back into the bottle, so the pour runs steady and cuts off clean instead of running down the outside. The bell shape gives a wide base that survives a knocked elbow, and the neck is tapered to be tipped one-handed. The mouth beneath the cap is deliberately wide so the bottle can be refilled from a larger one.
Each bottle holds 5 fl oz of Kikkoman's naturally brewed soy sauce, and this is a 2 pack: one for the table and one for the stove, or one at each end of a long table.
