Monin Sea Salt Caramel Toffee Sauce, 12 oz
$21.08
Product Details
Salt is what separates this from a plain caramel. Sugar alone reads as one flat note, but a measure of sea salt sharpens the edges and lets the buttery toffee underneath come forward, so the flavor arrives sweet, turns rich and finishes clean instead of cloying. The toffee is the other half of the difference, carrying a cooked-butter depth that a simple caramel stays short of.
Monin has been blending flavors in France since 1912 and is still a family firm, now in its third generation. The Gourmet Sauce line is bodied heavier than the syrups so it can be stirred through a drink and drizzled over the top of one, and this 12 oz bottle runs to roughly twenty-four half-ounce servings, or about a dozen if you pour a full ounce into something tall and iced.
It suits iced lattes, cold brew and blended frozen coffee, and holds up just as well off the espresso bar, over ice cream, on cheesecake, or shaken into dessert cocktails where the salt keeps a sweet glass from going one-note.
