Chocolate sits in the middle of Surya Brasil's henna cream range, deeper than the Light Brown and well short of the Black. With a plant-based color the shade name describes an intention rather than a guaranteed outcome: the pigment lands on top of whatever color is already there, so hair that starts medium brown takes it as added depth while lighter hair reads closer to the name on the box.

The behavior is the same across the line. This is a semi-permanent, deposit-only color: the pigment coats the outside of the hair shaft instead of lifting the pigment underneath, so it can go darker or richer but never lighter.
