Despite the name on the box, there is no tea leaf in here. Wild Sweet Orange is an herbal infusion, and its citrus character comes from orange peel rather than from a flavored black tea. Lemongrass carries the cup, tart and a little grassy underneath the orange, with a cool spearmint edge at the finish and enough natural sweetness from licorice root that most people pour it plain.

Tazo asks for water at a full boil and a five minute steep, noticeably longer than a black tea wants, and the cup pours a deep amber orange rather than pale. That color and body are why it works so well cold. Brew four or five bags strong, chill the pitcher overnight, and add a wheel of orange or a sprig of mint before serving.
