A skillet sauce from Frontera, the Mexican food line chef Rick Bayless started in Chicago and sold to ConAgra Brands in 2016. The Classic Fajita variety is built on chipotle chile and lime, with tomato, onion, garlic, cumin and black pepper over a vinegar and cane sugar base, and Frontera rates it medium on its heat scale. Each pouch holds 8 ounces and this case contains six of them.
It is meant as a cooking sauce rather than a table condiment. The package directions call for adding the pouch to sliced chicken or steak and vegetables in a hot skillet and cooking until the sauce coats everything, about ten minutes. The same pouch works over shrimp, mushrooms or whatever else goes in the pan, and the sauce reduces as it cooks. Contains soy and anchovy.
