Maldon Garlic Sea Salt Flakes. Hand harvested flakes expertly blended with wild and roasted garlic for a wonderfully fragrant taste.

A two-garlic blend rather than a single garlic powder. Maldon gives the make-up as 94% sea salt flakes, 3% dried wild garlic and 3% roasted garlic, and the two garlics do different jobs. Wild garlic is the leaf rather than the bulb, and is milder and less pungent than a clove; the roasted garlic is the sweeter, nuttier half of the pairing. Both are blended through the flakes dry, so what you are pinching is still loose salt.

The base is the same hand-drawn flake Maldon sells plain, so the crystals crush between your fingers and carry the garlic with them. Maldon suggests it on meats, vegetables, pasta and dressings, and points to garlic bread and buttery new potatoes, dishes where salt and garlic would otherwise be added separately. This is the 3.5 oz (100 g) box rather than the 1.1 lb tub. The label notes it may contain traces of nuts, sesame, peanuts, mustard, celery, milk, soya and gluten, and the occasional wild garlic stalk.
